Major Freq (Pronounced May-Jer FrEEk), (real name Zachary Dunn) first came out of Bristol in 1992 living in Lawrence Weston. A rough area with proclaimed stabbings, vandalism etc. This child who soon to be a 'star' was pressured through multiple dangers and threats while living as a 6 year old, roaming his local play area. Then within the next few years, life went downhill. From family problems like when his parents split up, to losing friends. This was the real motivation behind the music of AKM.
In 2002, he was scouted out by a Talent Agent to become part of a choir, with his ability to sing like a god (claimed local reverend). For the next 2 years he built a reputation with fellow pupil’s parents as a small time idol. This is when life decided to take a downfall. Rumours throughout his family began to crop up on his mind from his parents soon planning to split up as his father was seeing someone else during Zach's mum and his dads marriage. This came upon his mind as a downer; hurting him emotionally, making him feel sick. Lost in his own mind. In 2004 Zach's parents then left. Zach was in a state of confusion and sadness; didn't know what to do. He then left his mothers to move on to his dad's.
In late 2004 his father bought him Eminem's DVD '8 Mile' as a gift. This then influenced Zach to browse Google to find any online rap communities. A window then opened up. Kalistyle.com (at the time) was a major site in the hip hop community featuring a lot of worldwide Hip Hop sensations. Yung L was born. From 'crappy' freestyles to writtens and battles, this junior of the rap game began to improve rapidly with a lot of criticism; people began to see what was being made.
After a struggling year or 2, he then returned as AKM. There is no meaning behind the name, leaving listeners in thought. He was about to blow up. From multiple collaborations with unsigned artists from his local area to residents of the USA. He was starting to make a name for himself. Featuring on DJ Icepick's Untold Secrets Volume.1 (available for download at www.datpiff.com) with his '2 Bars a bi*** freestyle'. People were amazed. 2 mixtapes later, he was at biting point.
Returning back to the mic, Major Freq has appeared as another character from the world of Zach Dunn. Bringing you the freshest Underground Hip Hop from the UK featuring people supporting him like Principle (www.crutchporn.com) and many more. Using self produced beats with his other half of Source Beatz (www.soundclick.com/SourceBeatzUK) DJ 80, he plans to create a new era to the Hip Hop culture in the UK and then hopefully expanding worldwide.
